The Great Yorkshire Run
On the Sunday 24th July Constant Security were out in numbers both running and providing security, for the Great Yorkshire Run which was held in Harrogate for the first time.
The run was a pleasant and scenic 10k which took it the great North Yorkshire surroundings with a picturesque town centre start and finish.
Alongside us sending a running team to the event we also provided the security, crowd safety and stewarding for the event. From the feedback we received it was a great day for all involved and as a result we have already been asked to provide security and stewards for the forthcoming Harrogate Christmas Market. This comes on the back of another highly successful security provision at the Great Yorkshire Show where we are in our third term.
Our senior Contracts Manager Michael Dainty supervised the security deployment on the day and said: “It was great to help manage the event and ensure the safety of all involved. It was also great to be able to see and shout support to a few of our team as they shot past. There were about 6000 people taking part and all them raised cash for various charities. It’s a great way to raise awareness of charitable causes. I know all of our team raised cash for a number of different charities and good on them. I don’t think I’ll be joining them soon for a 10k though.”
